Manchester City have found the goals again against Watford following their 0-0 draw on the weekend away to Crystal Palace.
Raheem Sterling opened the scoring with just 38-seconds on the clock, the fastest goal scored in the Premier League this season.
The slick move was the first attack of the game.
The goal came off a sweet run from German winger Leroy Sane who slipped down the left wing and put a beautiful cross into the box which bobbled along the 6-yard box and fell to an unmarked Sterling at the back post.
The young Englishman was left with the simplest of tap-ins to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
Just moments later City looked set for 2-0 as yet again Sane tip-toed his was around the Watford box and his low drive over the 6-yard area found defender John Stones all alone.
But his ability as a striker shone through as he blazed the simple effort over the bar.
The home side had no need to worry about the scoreline not doubling, as on the 13th minute Watford defender, Christian Kabasele, slid in to deflect away Kevin De Bruyne’s low drive into the box.
Inadvertently he sliced the cross into the back post of his own goal giving the goalkeeper no chance to prevent the deflection.
The rest of the half saw a number of tame efforts from both sides with no result.
Even featuring Blues superstar Kevin De Bruyne’s free kick smashing against the cross bar in the 17th minute.
The only booking came the direction of City midfielder David Silva, who was given a yellow card for tugging on the shirt of Hornets midfielder Ben Watson.
